I started Suzuki cello lessons when I was 5 1/2 years old. I received my Bachelor of Science in Music Education and Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance from Penn State University . I came to Wisconsin in 2013 and started my home studio soon after I arrived. Previously I had a home studio where I taught while I lived in Louisiana. Having a studio and being able to teach according to my own vision while standing on the shoulders of all the professionals who have come before me has always been one of my dreams.
My goal for teaching music is to give each student the knowledge to become professional human beings rather than training just them to be professional musicians.
I’ve taken a few teacher training courses, gaining perspective of what is being taught with the Suzuki Method from teachers who have been teaching for decades. I look forward to furthering my knowledge as I take more in the future. As a musician there is always more to learn.
LANDIS STRING STUDIO
I teach in Verona because I live in the area. Teaching here is my way of enriching the neighborhood. The intent of this studio is to provide high quality string instruction while students of all ages learn life skills such as focus, discipline and patience.
